  1. Determine the appropriate privacy statement to use on the website.

    University of Minnesota online privacy statement (privacy.umn.edu) is for sites that collect only routine website statistics

    OR

    Customized online privacy statement is for sites that collect other information beyond routine website statistics. Customized online privacy statements must include additional sections. See the Appendix: Language for Customized Privacy Statements for sections to include and sample wording.

  2. Link to the privacy statement. The words Privacy Statement must be included on the bottom of the web page with a link to the appropriate privacy statement for the website.
