Paid Medical Leave Eligibility and Provisions

Note: Entitlement to Medical Leave is subject to approval in accordance with the policy.

Faculty (Except Duluth)

Appointment Percentage

Holding an appointment of 67 - 100% time with a term of nine months or more.

Type Self Dependent Child Other Immediate Family Members
Regular, Contract or Temporary Faculty

Up to three consecutive calendar months of continuous or intermittent paid medical leave per illness or injury. Medical leave may also be used for medical or dental appointments.

Up to two consecutive calendar weeks of continuous or intermittent paid medical leave per illness or injury to care for or arrange care for a dependent child. Medical leave may also be used for medical or dental appointments.

Up to 10 regularly scheduled workdays taken in whole or half day increments of paid medical leave per fiscal year to care for or arrange care for immediate family members with a serious health condition. This time includes medical or dental appointments.

Visiting Faculty

Up to two consecutive calendar weeks of continuous or intermittent paid medical leave per illness or injury. Medical leave may also be used for medical or dental appointments.

Up to two consecutive calendar weeks of continuous or intermittent paid medical leave per illness or injury to care for or arrange care for a dependent child. Medical leave may also be used for medical or dental appointments.

No provision of paid medical leave is available.
