Appellate Officers for Unit-Appointed Respondents

Faculty member or Deans on the Twin Cities campus Executive Vice President & Provost or designee
Staff member Vice President for Human Resources or designee
Vice Chancellors and Deans on the Crookston, Duluth, Morris and Rochester campuses Chancellor or designee
Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Chancellor, and General Counsel President or designee

1] As set forth in Board of Regents Policy: Conflict Resolution Process for Employees, complaints alleging that the president, or any other employee who reports directly to the Board of Regents (Board), personally engaged in a challenged action shall be referred to the chair of the Board, who shall determine whether the conflict resolution process set forth in the Administrative Policy: Conflict Resolution for Faculty, P&A, Civil Service, and Student Employees must be adjusted to ensure fair consideration of the matter or if an independent panel should be appointed by the chair to review the complaint and make a determination.

[2] If the individual identified herein as the Appellate Officer has been identified as the unit-appointed respondent or has a conflict of interest that prevents them from serving in the Appellate Officer role in a particular matter, the Vice President for Equity and Diversity will appoint a different individual to serve as Appellate Officer in that matter.
