Global Programs & Strategy Alliance is the central coordinating international office for the University of Minnesota system. With a goal of "preparing global citizens," Global Programs & Strategy Alliance promotes the internationalization of the teaching, research, and outreach missions of the University.

Global Programs & Strategy Alliance manages a variety of resources for international travel including:

  • Travel registry
  • Health and safety considerations including insurance information, state department resources and more.
  • Information on University policies for international travel with students and more
  • Funding opportunities
  • Other resources including weather, cultural considerations and opportunities to connect with an expert on the location you will visit

The Learning Abroad Center, part of the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance, serves as a travel resource for the campus and wider community through a variety of travel services. The Resource Center sells passport photos and Lonely Planet travel guidebooks at an affordable rate. The Learning Abroad Center is also an issuing agent for International Student and Teacher Identification Cards (ISIC & ITIC) and RailEurope passes. Travel advising appointments to discuss general travel planning are available for University of Minnesota students and staff.

*extended hours Monday 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. during fall and spring semesters
