Re-enroll if you are returning to the same graduate program to pursue the same degree, and your program has not agreed to Express Readmission. Yes Electronic Application

The fee may be waived if you were registered for the previous term, but neglected to register this term, and you are returning to the same program and degree.

Change/Add to the Same Program (Major)

Admission Purpose, Application Fee Required and Form to Use
Purpose Application Fee (Y or N) Form to Use
Add a lesser degree objective to the one in which you are currently enrolled (e.g., master’s degree in addition to doctoral). No Graduate Degree Plan (GSSP electronic form)
  • Change to a lesser degree objective in the same program in which you are currently enrolled (e.g., from doctoral to master's degree).
  • Remove a track in which you are currently enrolled.
  • Add your first track to the program in which you are currently enrolled.
No Express Change of Status Form
  • Add a higher degree objective to the one in which you are currently enrolled (e.g., doctoral degree in addition to master's).
  • Add an equivalent degree objective to the one in which you are currently enrolled (e.g., from MS in Civil Engineering to MCE in Civil Engineering).
  • Add one or more tracks to the one in which you are currently enrolled.
  • Change to a different track from the one in which you are currently enrolled. 1

  • Change to a degree objective in a different program than the one in which you are currently enrolled (e.g., from doctoral degree in Economics to master's degree in Mathematics)
  • Change from your current degree objective and program on the Duluth Campus to a degree objective and program on the Twin Cities campus

Post-Baccalaureate Certificates

If you were previously enrolled in a post-baccalaureate certificate program and your active student status has lapsed, follow the readmission process above.

If you are currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program and wish to add or change to a post-baccalaureate certificate program, you will need to complete a new application. You will be charged an application fee.  Detailed application instructions are available online.

1 Students who were admitted to a program's "general status" (without track) and who are adding a track for the first time must file a paper application and are not required to pay a fee.
