Questions?

Please use the contact section in the governing policy.

Step 1:

Students wishing to take an exam for proficiency or credit must consult with their home college/campus to determine if successful completion of the exam will apply to their degree program; students on the Morris and Rochester campus must first meet with the Registrar.

Step 2:

The student on any campus should then submit a "Request for Special Examination" form to the appropriate department. Once approved, this form is routed to the student's home college/campus, and finally to the Office of the Registrar.

Step 3:

The student must schedule the exam and take the exam. A student must successfully complete the exam to the department's satisfaction in order for the course to be reflected on a transcript as either proficiency or examination for credit.
